Ok you get the 50's too.
But the 70's REALLY. We had loads of british Prog bands. Loads of british Folk artists. About 70% of all good punk. The big hard rock bands like The Who and Led Zeppelin. We had both Bolan and Bowie. Can you really argue? |

We can rattle off lists all day long but I still stand by the notion that a country that virtually fits inside Texas and can produce so much innovative and varied music deserves more than a modicum of respect. It's not about who's better but respect where it's due. Virtually every British poster on this forum likes music from wherever it comes from and respects it but you seem to have this hang up that because some roots of music are from America then that's all that matters. I get the feeling that you don't like British music a whole lot which is your choice but it blinds you to what's out there. Maybe you should open up and give music that is less familiar a chance? It's rewarding.
