...and probably overlooked.....Alex Lifeson of Rush.....technically excellent, but some of his solos are amazing...just my opinion.!

The guitarists in Slayer are so-so. They have talent but not the greatest IMO.

Well, it is true. Jeff Hanneman has some good rhythm guitarwork - some nice riffs.

Kerry King's guitarwork is often centered around chaotic fret wankery, which is fine for Slayer's purpose, but it doesn't make him metal's best guitarist. Of course, this is opinionated, but this is my viewpoint.

Hanneman > King
