Quintessentially the first actual "punk" album. The singing is ragged, though.

Sex Pistols

Sounds like New York Dolls' 2.5 album to me.

The Clash

Only if it's the UK version.

Not a massive fan of these but the Ramones take it.

PS: I have an excellent vinyl rip of the Ramones' album where the bass is vastly improved over any of the CD releases. PM me with your preferred format.

I`m not a huge fan of that Clash album but the Ramones debut is a great album, but the attitude of the Sex Pistols album imo is second to none especially with its killer basic song structures and John Lydon`s vocals.

The Clash. I fucking hate the Ramones, I appreciate their influence but I'd much rather listen to something like The Dictators Go Girl Crazy. Sex Pistols... Meh. Enjoyable singles, but it's not a favourite of mine. Again, I appreciate its importance, but The Damned trumped it with
Damned Damned Damned

To be honest I'm not too hot on the Clash s/t either, but it's the best of the bunch. I don't personally think these are the best first-wave punk debuts.
