The Q4 - Sound Surroundings (2010)

Saw this intriguing jazz/trip-hopper mentioned a couple of times, so tracked it down for myself. Needless to say, it's full of hot gravy and beyond awesome.

I just picked this up too. I haven't unpacked it yet, but I can't wait to hear it.

Madlib's first release under his own name, the brief "Madlib Invazion EP" features a few rough beats with various Lootpack associates rhyming over them. Pretty decent stuff, copped it for a five spot.

May I have a link?

Peeping Tom - Peeping Tom (2006)

A pop-rock/trip-hop musical project by Mike Patton; wonderfully reminiscent of early Faith No More or Mr. Bungle circa California while still trying out all sorts of awesome things. Features collaborations with Massive Attack, Norah Jones, Amon Tobin, Dan The Automator and numerous others.

I honestly don't see any similarities at all between Peeping Tom and early FNM but I agree that it's a pretty good album. Makes me want to give it a spin since I haven't listened to it in quite a while.

DARK FOREST - Aurora Borealis cd

Not anything spectacular or too groundbreaking but a solid first album by these Canadian Heathen metallers and about what I was expecting really. Definitely is worth a listen for those who enjoy Moonsorrow, Bathory, Summoning and the like.

In defense, a lot of people, myself included, post their newly acquired albums before having a good chance to really feel them out. The "Albums you're Digging" Is more or less the thread where we go into greater detail about the stuff we find that we actually like.
