Thou - Heathen (2014)

This is apparently some Sludge/Doom Metal goodness. Listening to it later.

Enjoying this quite a bit on the bus this morning.

El Chicano - Viva Tirado (1970)

Another band with a Santana influence, mixing soul, jazz, salsa, rock and funk. This is their first album, released on Kapp records, giving them their gold record hit with the title track "Viva Tirado."

Sludge and stoner seem to have taken the early lead for best metal sub genres of 2014. Lots of great stuff and I haven't even heard this one in full yet

dang I need to check that out. The place where I get most of my downloads legally hates the UK and doesn't really like to put up their new releases. The newest album they have from Ghetts is The Calm Before The Storm and as you know that came out in 2010.

James Arthur - Recovery
John Newman - Out of my Mind
Augustines - Walkabout
Augustines - Cruel City
WeAreAugustines - Book Of James
WeAreAugustines - Juarez

Yeah, I went a little Augustine crazy with the downloads

I remember downloading it but never got around to listening to it. I'll let you know in a few hours.

Edit: So I checked it out and I loved it for the most part, It was definitely more grime than I was expecting. I thought he usually does UK Hip Hop or maybe I was making that assumption off of his album before this one. Brainless , Dosein It and We Control This are the top tunes on that album for me.

Pretty Please - Father

read a review of this band live.....started with "they opened for Whores."....five bucks and three minutes later and i'm enjoying some great post hardcore noise rock.....with even a couple of very well place harmonics.....seems to me that Atlanta may be the new Minneapolis when it comes to the noise rock scene

TacocaT - NVM

when Charlemagne (who has some of the best taste on this website :) ) posted this a week or so ago....i flipped out.....i watched this band rise up through the underground music scene of Seattle and can honestly say....they are by far one of the most fun live bands i have ever seen....awesome to see them getting a bit of exposure out of the Seattle area....seriously if you can relax and just sit back and enjoy super fun music with often hilarious and ridiculous lyrics....check out TacocaT....also being a bob....i can appreciate any band whose name is a palindrome :)

Alarms & Controls - Clovis Points

well played kind of post hardcore/math rock.....very reminiscent of the 2000s era Dischord releases.....maybe thats why they're signed to Dischord :)
