at least i gave you an opportunity to learn that in a relatively simple fashion.

sorry to piss people off. and 333 - i wasn't posting directly at you, so take it easy. no personal attacks here - just general frustration with half-assed posts all around :)

But it only works if you have any interest in the tastes of your fellow MB members. For instance, I know that if sidewinder posts only an album cover then I may want to check out the album based on the fact that, based on past MB experience, I already know that there is a good chance I will like it.

So there's two examples (posts by you and sidewinder) in which only an album cover, title, and band name would be sufficient for me to decide whether to pay attention to any text or links.

oh, and to contribute: I recently got Plastic Beach by Gorillaz. It's a new album by a well-known artist and I don't really like it at all.

Um, thanks?

I haven't downloaded or purchased much lately. Or rather, I have, and I already posted it, and I'm just trying to enjoy it before I download/buy more. I need to make a trip to the record store, almost went last weekend but wound up doing other things.

Wait I lied...I just remembered I ordered Cabaret Voltaire's Micro-Phonies a few days ago. I have MP3s but wanted to add the CD to my collection because I like it a lot. One of the early industrial bands, huge influence to one of my favorite bands ever, Skinny Puppy. This was pretty much their 2nd more accessible, almost synth-pop album. Of the ones I've heard it's my favorite.

Tricky - Unreleased Tracks

today i manged to locate discs 2, 3, and 4 of this set of unreleased tracks from Tricky. the discs were apparently sent out as promotional material. there are lot of great tracks on here. interstingly, Tricky is conspicuously absent, only showing up on a few tracks (including a great rendition of 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover).

quite a few feature Costanza Francavilla who sang on Vulnerable and Blowback - she's by far my favorite out of all the female vocalists Tricky has collaborated with over the years.

Spirit Music Group Discography at Discogs

a taste of what it has to offer:

What a beauty. One of my most enjoyable finds of late.

Haha - Indeed. And for the record; I like your posting style and your musical tastes (just a bit off from my own). But, while this is a good thread that should not be ruined, I don't mind the occasional half-assed posts so much.

You're welcome? Yes, while you like a lot of music that I don't (and surely vice versa), I can tell that you and I have a generally similar outlook on music.

I just downloaded this little piece of electronic dub by ooah
It's his Hacksaw/Tubstomper EP and while I think the Glitch Mob sounds a little bit brainless, I like that Ooah at least uses some real dub in his music.

Am I to deduct that this is basically 'glitchy dub'?

I guess. The Glitch Mob are ooah and 2 other West Coast producers who make 'glitchy' electronic music - heavy on hip-hop. Calling any of them 'dub' is probably giving them too much credit. They really just wanna rock the dancefloor I think.
