I wasn't impressed with it at first but it grew on me a bit more on the second listen. On some parts they sound like they're trying new things but not quite pulling it off. It's ok but it's a disappointment compared to their previous albums.

I've been on an ISIS kick lately. I've procured their entire discography recently.

^^
Very nice choice. Gaz Cobain and Brian Dougans (aka FSOL) are easily two of the most talented composers and producers in electronic music - I'm a massive fan of theirs. Environments II is just as good (and epic) as that as well.

i ended up grabbing all FSOL in one big pack, but i'm finding their early stuff to be too lound and jittery for my tastes. the two Environments releases are really fantastic though.

Chequerboard - Penny Black

very evocative acoustic ambient soundscapes. gotta find more stuff like this
