And I'm back from my latest music bender...
Allen Toussaint - Southern Nights http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_riO6MiGJAn...hts-432295.jpg ^ Sometimes words like awesome just aren't enough. Reads like a dusty old leather-bound book called 'everything that's amazing about classic New Orleans soul'. I've also been getting hold of some modern(ish) German IDM; Ellen Allien - Dust http://www.residentadvisor.net/image...010/bpc217.jpg Apparat - Walls http://www.residentadvisor.net/image...rat-walls.jpeg Moderat - Moderat http://www.residentadvisor.net/image...009/bpc200.jpg And some Youssou N'Dour that I realised I inexplicably didn't already have; Youssou N'Dour - The Lion http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...sAYOiIyIKw&t=1 |

Doesn't work quite as well as A Piece Of Strange for me, but it's one hell of a nice release nevertheless. http://i55.tinypic.com/ncccjm.jpg Acid rock nirvana with that little extra something to make it endearing in the mind. |

8 piece band from France. If Nick Cave or Tindersticks is your thing you'll f*ckin love this. |
Esben and the Witch - 33
http://www.thelineofbestfit.com/wp-c...77128469-1.jpg Really great and highly recommended. I dig it like mad. "Marching Song" put the entire album instantly on my iPod. Dave Matthews Band - Everyday http://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/covers/everyday.jpg I decided that I spent too much of my time hating Dave Matthews Band, so I tracked down the album with the one DMB song on it I knew I liked. Still not loving them, but I don't want to vomit listening to them, which is a good sign and major improvement. |
