I think Goofle11 put it best in his RYM review (that's right, I creep on people's profiles, also I'll be paraphrasing as RYM appears to be down)

"It sounds like an album Leonard Cohen would record in a haunted house"

Lonesome Wyatt is one of the members of the band Those Poor Bastards which generally falls under the Gothic Country moniker. Think of it as like a lo-fi version of country where the subject matter usually involves murder, addiction, and sin, although that's hardly an all encompassing definition, but it definitely describes Lonesome Wyatt's take on the genre.

It is new & the description above is pretty much on the mark. I "discovered" the album on these forums & hadn't heard any Lonesome Wyatt before. Now I'll be hunting for his other releases.

Does it hold up a lot of replay value? I could go for a record like that.

If that´s an accurate description, I hope to be checking out that album too.

In the meantime I´ve been re-assessing Tago Mago and for once I got an easy Mediafire download; Ege Bamyasi, which I´m enjoying too. I ignored Can for years, until the old PFAC alerted me to how good they were. This is the only thread I can find just now, if anyone wants to read, bump or skip it :- http://www.musicbanter.com/avant-gar...12316-can.html

PS. Hi Simpkins. Welcome to MB. I don´t recognise any of the names you mention - any clues about genre, etc. for us ?
