You can buy it on topshelf records' bandcamp. I got the leak that Derrick posted, but that's just because I ordered the Vinyl/t-shirt/poster package and didn't want to wait for the digital download. Absolutely pay for it. I've only listened to it once but I know it's going to be one of my favorite albums of the year.

The Handsome Family - Wilderness (2013)

I've always been a little lukewarm about The Handsome Family. They came up a lot when I was starting to get into more roots and Americana music but I never cared for them as much as some of the other artists I found during that time. I've heard some good things about this album and I really like the artwork too.

Black Beauty by Arthur Lee & Love. Picked it up on 180g vinyl with free download. I've heard many of the songs on Youtube but his vinyl copy sounds like heaven on earth. It was pricey but I had a gift card for the local record shop that more than covered it.

Sample it here:

The Ocean - Pelagial (2013)

Not enjoying it as much as I thought I would be, at least compared to their 2010 albums. It passes the time though and doesn't offend me by its very existence so it does have those two points going for it.

Last bought Mellow Gold by Beck and Symbols by KMFDM

Listened to the Beck album yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Just finished listening to the KMFDM CD and it's not stupendous or anything but it is definitely good.

Altar of Plagues - Teethed Glory and Injury (2013)
My first impressions are that it's the weakest of their 3 albums so far. It's something slightly different for them but not necessarily better. The first thing that's noticeable is the shorter songs, no 18-minute epics this time. There's also more of an industrial edge to their sound than previously but it doesn't exactly expand the boundaries of atmospheric black metal. Not bad as such but I'm slightly disappointed as I was hoping for more.

Battles - Mirrored (2007)
It's about time I gave this album a listen. Not quite sure of what to make of it as it's quite an earful and maybe even slightly irritating. One part of me wants to listen to it more and try to decipher it in the hope of being rewarded, the other part of me wants to chuck it in the recycle bin and not waste my time with it.

I vote that you go with option one. It's a great album that gets better the more you listen to it.

I'll take your word for it. I just found it hard to penetrate on my first listen but it's certainly something different with a lot going on.
