SOO ****ING GREAT!!!

they remind me of the Smashing Pumpkins & Sonic Youth mixed together to create some truly beautiful music.

The very best of the doors

sounds like they totally remixed these classic tracks as they sound clearer and more up to date (better then just digitally re mastering them). Also, Jim Morrison's voice is a lot more clearer and in your face then the original versions (which wasn't the best idea since Jim wasn't the greatest vocalist.)

He was'nt the greatest vocalist technically but he had an iconic style and charisma that made him a great vocalist.

without a doubt, I agree... those songs are what they were because of Jim's voice. I'm just saying, hearing this latest mix of those songs really makes you realize how off he sometimes was technically but the songs and Morrison are still great.

Definitely. When The Doors clicked they REALLY clicked. Did you ever hear the album they released after Morrisons Death Other Voices? Ray and Robby were on vocal duties. There is some great music on ther and the vocals are adequate but it still feels like something is (obviously) missing. Worth a listen to though.

No I haven't... I will definitely check that out though. Morrison had a great voice in the unconventional sense, much like Lou Reed (who is one of my favorites).
