Ratking - So It Goes

I'm always looking for some experimental rap, so I'm looking forward to giving this a try.

Fireworks - Oh, Common Life

Giving them a chance, I listened to Gospel a couple of times but never got it, so I'll get their new one.

I gave Halo a go. Good album.

Triptykon - Melana Chasmata (2014)

Honestly can't remember listening to their debut, nor could I find it on my computer so I honestly don't know what to make of it. Still, it's Tom G Warrior so I'm expecting it to be interest, if nothing else.

BADBADNOTGOOD - III (2014)

We'll see.

Aesop Rock - The Blob (2014)

Oh yes. Aes has been a beast producer for a few years now.

Edit:

No need for three posts in a row. So I'll just say BBNGIII is pretty boring and completely throw away.

That makes me sad, I've listened to it 4 times now and with each new listen I find a new favorite song. I don't know if this is all original material, or if it's covers, but to be honest when I listened to BBNGII I thought it was all original material until a friend pointed out that one of the songs was a cover of Kanye West.

Anyways, it seems the major contention between those who like it and those who hate it stems from the fact that this album is a lot calmer than their previous two albums, and I get it, there was a lot to be said about the way they weaved chaos and direction together, but I think it's nice that they can perform the same level of quality, with a much different direction. I have to admit, it was a little disconcerting on my first listen yesterday afternoon, but I gave it another listen while coming back from an errand and I found myself more engaged with the songs, then again today on a walk to the library. I can't say it's for everyone, but for just sitting in the sun and reading a book (which I''m striving to do this weekend), this is currently my soundtrack of choice.
