Rudresh Mahanthappa - Dual Identity

Some incredible sax heavy free jazz. It's really great on all fronts, but the dual (yep) alto saxes really stand out on this record. I'm thinking Matana Roberts fans will dig this record.

Which record do you prefer? I'd go with the latter.

This album and Polyfusia are fantastic records. I feel like Quique is a near perfect melding together of early-90's post-rock and IDM.

Personally Attack On Memory is probably better overall, but the high points on HANWE are to me much higher like Psychic Trauma for example.

Danny Howard - BBC Radio 1's Dance Anthems Ibiza (2014)

This guy is The Music Ninja's artist in residence this month, so like I did with Fei-Fei, I decided to check out his mixes.

40 well put-together tracks. Certainly a dance party!

I love how they mastered the "noise" rock sounds for Attack on Memory, but made it even LOUDER for Here & Nowhere Else. For that alone, I enjoy that record more. Not to mention, they put on one hell of a badass show.
