This album is sick. I was kind of shocked that Jeff Bridges of all people would make such an awesomely weird album

Latest 1st listen downloads/streams:

Rex - 3 (1997)
Vinyl from the lady's collection, never even heard of this band. After a little RYM research, I learned that the drummer is the same as June of 44's, and that he was also Codeine's and Mice Parade's drummer. This is good, slowcore I suppose you'd call it.

Dorian Concept - Joined Ends (2014)
Follow-up to the Austrian producer's 2009 album, When Planets Explode. The first was quite Glitch Hop/Wonky, but this one pulls back quite a bit and is mainly Downtempo.

Twerps - Range Anxiety (2015)
This album has a jangle pop vibe akin to The Bats, The Moles, and The Feelies. Me gusta. I first learned of this band last year because I followed a colleague's Spotify playlist in which he dropped in things he wanted to listen to, his queue essentially, and he dropped in the band's 2014 EP which caught my eye. On this album there are both male and female vocals, I think I counted 3 songs that were sung by the woman. I'm normally not keen on female vocals but these are good tracks and the album works as a whole.

The Proper Ornaments - Wooden Head (2014)
Like Ultimate Painting, this band also features James Hoare from Veronica Falls, but here as part of a foursome rather than a duo. I'm also enjoying this a lot, maybe I should check out Veronica Falls? Or not, I was always scared by the "twee" label on RYM. But I'm enjoying this guy's other bands and their Australian-influenced jangle pop. This is their second album, haven't heard the first.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Yeah it's actually a really good album. Listening to it again tomorrow and I might give it 4*.

Today so far. Gonna start putting a * next to albums that are first listens/new to my library.

Lower Dens - Nootropics*
Jana Hunter - There's No Home*
Jana Hunter - Blank Unstaring Heirs of Doom*
Lake - The World Is Real*

The Microphones - It Was Hot, We Stayed in the Water
Sleep In Sundays - "Okay."
Kyst - Cotton Touch
St. Vincent - Actor

12 albums in just over 14 hours of being awake. Not sure how I managed to pull that off, guess I'm just used to listening to new stuff and more full albums out of habit now.

Gonna finish the night off most likely with another listen of The Microphones - Mount Eerie or possibly something from Fink.

Yesterday's albums:

The Microphones - The Glow Pt. 2
The Mountain Goats - All Hail West Texas*
The Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree*
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral*
Fink - Distance and Time
Grandaddy - Under the Western Freeway
I Hate Myself - Ten Songs*
Yo La Tengo - And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out*
Slowdive - Souvlaki*
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless*

A couple of charity shop purchases, €2 for each.

Soft Machine - Third (1970)
I've had very little exposure to this band before picking this up but I was aware of this album's high reputation. I certainly got value for money here as this is a 2 CD set consisting of the entire 75-minute album on one disc and a live set on the the other. I don't listen to much jazzy prog rock but I dig this.

Tribes of Neurot - Meridian (2005)
I haven't listened to this yet but all I know about it is that it's a dark ambient recording involving members of Neurosis. Will give it a spin later.

Dan Deacon - Gliss Riffer (2015)

Another day, another leak from one of my favorite artists. Weirdo-freakout electronica forever!

That's a great album, probably my favourite of the 21st century. Her newest, Coin Coin Chapter Three: River Run Thee is pretty interesting too. Instead of free jazz like the first two parts it's a dense drone album. That being said, Chapter One is my favourite.
