What are you talking about? That's a masterpiece.

Westside Gunn - Supreme Blientele (2018)

Only on the first track but this is supposed to be some real throwback 90's boom bap type shit.

Anna Burch - Quit the Curse

One of the relatively few 2018 albums I've bought so far. Decided to get it because I really like this song:

Halo Maud - Je Suis Une Ile

Another 2018 album. I don't remember what style of music this even is - I just remember that I really liked what I heard, so it's been high on a list of albums I want to get for a long time.

Róisín Murphy - Overpowered

Varying shades of pop. Not nearly as weird as the other album I have from her. It's good and the title track has been stuck in my head on and off for years.

omni Sight Seeing by Harumi Hosono

well "Light in the Attic" re-released two of Hosono's albums (including this one) a week ago today, and are releasing another couple next month (including Cochin Moon which I have plugged here before and is also great) so figured id pop this on. this album hits on a lot of different styles and I think is an amalgamation of his travels and their influence on his music. features a legit house track mixed in between a tripped out version of "Caravan" (which may have been topical a couple years ago when it was featured as the end scene of Whiplash) and a nature-sampled, piano-laced ambient track

so well ya its the good stuff for a Friday morning

I'm not used to actually having money to spend, so I'm tempted to get a few albums on amazon this evening. Gonna prowl Allmusic and my album lists to find a couple good ideas.

Settled on these two:

La Yegros - Magnetismo

Argentinian songwriter. The album is cumbia and other genres mixed together.

Mitra Sumara - Tahdig

According to worldmusiccentral.org: "Mitra Sumara, a New York City-based band that plays Farsi pop and funk". In any case, it sounds great from what I've checked out, so I'm taking the chance.

NAV - RECKLESS (2018)

I don't listen to NAV very often, but man he's fun to listen to when you wanna just jump into Rocket League and have a great time while being high. The beats are pretty smooth and some of the lyrics aren't actually all that bad. It's a pretty catchy album overall.
