Is that a good record? I've yet to hear it.

Got this downtown in my fave record store.

Opeth - Blackwater Park

The second Opeth album I've got now. It's ok, but I liked Deliverance better.
This one doesn't strike me as quite as memorable so far.

Dream Theater - Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence

I don't mind Dream Theater as much as I used to, but I still don't quite know what to think of them.
This is one of the albums I think I'll find a bit easier to get along with, based on past encounters.

Damnation and Watershed are definitely the top tier Opeth albums. Former cause their acoustic material is beautiful and the latter because it has a lot of variety.

Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence...yeah, one of the better Dream Theater albums. Lots of strong melodies and more diverse songwriting than normal. They had a real hard-on for Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, King Crimson and Kevin Gilbert's 90's stuff at the time.

Funny that you get that album after giving Tool another try. The Great Debate is blatant Tool worship, which I think rips off the main riff of 46 and 2 if I remember correctly.

The Glass Prison is really good as I recall, though never really cared for that album much.

Damnation is one I know I want. I actually thought that was the one I was getting when I bought Deliverance, but I'd switched the titles around in my head. There's no more Opeth in my local record store. I just got the two they happened to have.

I only heard the first two tracks on my stereo yesterday. The Glass Prison is pretty cool. Lots of cool little segments and I quite like the way the album is mixed. The drums sound way better than on many other DT albums, at least to me.

I tend to swing back around to bands after a while. Opeth and DT are growing on me, Tool not really. Although 10.000 Days has it's moments.

Haven't heard this one in a while, so I thought I'd give it a spin.

From Colombia to New York City...
