Broadcast’s Black Session from Paris, France — May 4th, 2000 is a perfect representation of their trademark electronic art-pop, Trish’s amazing voice and the band’s ability to transform experimental recordings into beautiful live performances.

This set features the original lineup that toured in support of their spectacular debut album, The Noise Made By People. It also includes all of those quirky electronic segues and dissonance between tracks, along with stellar renditions of early singles, albums cuts and B-sides like “Message From Home“, “Where Youth and Laughter Go“, “Echo’s Answer” and more.

Afro-Haitian Experimental Orchestra - Afro-Haitian Experimental Orchestra (2016)

Giving this album a re-listen today. A project featuring the late, great, drummer Tony Allen. Still sounds as good from start to finish as the last time I heard it which was probably several months ago.

Darondo - Let My People Go (2005)

Quote:
A mystery to most, Darondo records are high on the wants-lists of many collectors. He is spoken about in hushed-tones by other Bay Area musicians. Back in the day he was seen cruising around town in a white Rolls Royce (with a "Darondo" license plate). He opened-up for James Brown and lived a colorful lifestyle hanging with folks like the notorious Fillmore Slim. Take a listen to these tracks, released for the first time together on an album, and you may agree that he could have been the next Al Green or Sly Stone. But about 25 years ago Darondo disappeared.

Proggy arabic inspired rock stuff. Fans of Secret Chiefs 3 will dig it for sure (and I know that Exo will like it for sure).
This album is definitely worth revisiting.
