I loved Mount Eerie so I figured this must be my next stop. Very excited to give this one a listen.

Such a great album, you won't be disappointed.

Born On Flag Day was great, looking forward to listening to this one.

Scared Famous interested me, but didn't grab me, I'll give this one a try, since I've heard that it's pretty good.

Solitude Aeturnus - Alone

A lot like Candlemass (same vocalist (Robert Lowe)). 'Scent of Death' and 'Is There' are great songs.

Album cover is eerily good...

How do you like them?
Those were some of my favorite albums at one point. Take A Look Inside.. may be my favorite piece of music that came out of the lo-fi indie phase of the 90s

Dare To Be Surprised is much more polished but doesn't suffer much for it.

I just got The Wild Hunt by The Tallest Man on Earth
http://consequenceofsound.net/wp-con...hewildhunt.jpg

So far it's not grabbing me like Shallow Grave but I can see how it's a slightly more 'mature' effort or something. Not sure about it yet

I quite like them, but they don't strike me as anything out the ordinary. Just another lo-fi band from the 90s, decent enough songwriting but I don't really have a strong opinion. Only heard them both a couple of times.

I love this album, it took me ages to love it. Not through persistent listening, one day I just decided to listen to it.. and I loved it.

^I think you've got some weird editing there - I think you only meant to say the first couple sentences?

I really have only listened to the new Tallest man album once abd I certainly like it - but I crave the wildness of Shallow Grave.

Yeah, I did. My bad.

I listened to it about 5 times, then didn't touch it for months.. then I just decided to listen and it just appealed to me. I listened to Wild Hunt before Shallow Grave.. I have Shallow Grave but I haven't really listened to it much. But the Wild Hunt is great, stick with it. :thumb:

I definitely will. Really I just got into Shallow Grave in the past few months and have become kind of addicted. Once the euphoria wears off I'll crave something new and I'm sure I'll get into the Wild Hunt.

I'll be doing it the opposite way round, I'll get into Shallow Grave when Wild Hunt is a bit overplayed. The Wild Hunt is a near perfect album for me.

It's basically a compilation of covers.
I'm just listening to it now, but I am in LOVE with his cover of 'My Body Is A Cage' by Arcade Fire. Can't wait to listen to the rest.

Bought this recently on Vinyl From Record Shop on Hilton Street Manchester.
A Good Album with a distinctive sound of The Beat or English Beat if you in USA.
Whappen as an album is nowhere near as good as The Beat's Debut album "I just Can't Stop it".

An okay album but not as good as I was hoping. The story behind it is pretty cool though:

It takes a few listens to really get into it, or at least that's how it worked for me. There were some truly amazing tracks on there and then some tracks that just made me wonder wtf they were doing there, like "Teach the Babies", "Rain Blood", or "Freedom".

Every time someone gets this album, I get excited. I think I've commented on it for every person that has just downloaded this for the past 7 months. A pure classic. I find I like it so much because the sound completely surprised me...those guitars have some major crunch considering they came out of the 80's.

Is it better than Psychocandy? If so I'm in for a real treat. :D

I like it more, but I know there are people who swear by Psychocandy. In my opinion that album was like JAMC getting everyone's attention and with Darklands they were like...ok now listen to this.

You'll definitely want to get their second album Paegan Terrorism Tactics.

Do you think Darklands was the album they wanted people to hear? Springboard themselves with their debut, and then release in their eyes a really special album? I'll give it a listen later on.

James 06-28-2010 12:28 PM

I think both of those JAMC albums are 5 stars, sadly they never fulfilled their potential.
