Do you also find this chick very attractive?

Goofle 11-07-2012 07:31 AM

She's the sexiest pig I have seen.

It's Krautrock, it's named after a Hawkwind song and I'm thanking God that I don't own it on vinyl or CD.

jackhammer 11-07-2012 06:08 PM

bought:
http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...-gbiB8BUCw6byS
3 disc set with the remix album and a short DVD with a couple of promo vids. Not their best album but a great set.
http://www.braingell.com/wp-content/...atg_2cdset.jpg
Another 2 disc set with the classic At The Gates album and a live CD.
http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...jX9Yy3JBN_4H_Y
Yes it's another 2 disc set this time with the second disc of the album in 5.1 and glorious DTS surround sound.
http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...v8y6HKMug0brPw
Box set with poster.
http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...ghIysR9BjEMns5
Such a great little kooky Electronic Pop album.
D/L:
http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...unIMuhOGGKgHAA
A very decent Prog album with a little bit of Pop sensibility thrown in. Hardly surprising as main man Jem Godfrey started out as a Pop music writer for such crap as Atomic Kitten! Don't let that put you off if you like your Prog!

Also:
Kraftwerk - Electric Café - Computerwelt - Die Mensch-Maschine
Metallic Falcons - Desert Doughnuts
The Breeders - Mountain Battles - Last Splash

and finally listened to the new DJ Yoda release Chop Suey.

I'd nail all of them

Tallahassee Turns Ten
http://www.crookedneighbor.com/image...cUwm55vdMc.jpg

So this is a cover album to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Tallahassee's release. It's got a lot of great artists on it from the folk, punk and anti-folk scenes. I'm about half way through right now and I am very happy with it. Ooh there's even a jazz cover of "Old College Try" on here, I am definitely intrigued.

Justthefacts 11-08-2012 06:07 PM

remember when I said I was downloading Crystal Castles new album but it wasn't downloading?

Well guess what? IT'S DOWNLOADING NOW!

http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mb...giko1_1280.jpg

This is has been my most anticipated album in the longest time. So stoked right now

Goofle 11-08-2012 07:02 PM

They never did much for me unfortunately. Might give them another try.

dog 11-08-2012 07:12 PM

I just downloaded Sinead O'Connor's 'I do not want what I haven't got', and I'm loving it

noise 11-08-2012 07:47 PM

Wow it's been far too long since I visited MB.

Anyway, I'm currently giving the new Mike Doughty a thoughtful listen. I really like the new musical elements he's brought in, but the album seems less playful than his other stuff, which is sad. Still, worth listening to...

They're great, and their new LP is rad.

http://static.rateyourmusic.com/albu...s/s3882146.jpg

Mount Eerie - Clear Moon: Ahhh heck is this a lovely album. Exactly hit the spot. The hype has not been wrong.

http://static.rateyourmusic.com/albu...s/s3463230.jpg

Wooden Shjips - West: Solid neo-psych album. Not necessarily a standout, but it's got a fuzziness I really enjoyed.

http://static.rateyourmusic.com/album_images/s741.jpg

The Jesus Lizard - Goat: This was good, but I had much higher expectations of it, so I must admit I'm a bit disappointed.

http://static.rateyourmusic.com/albu...s/s3075627.jpg

Hello Seahorse! - Lejos, No Tan Lejos: Very decent dream pop album. Better than I'd expected, though I think the band is inadequately named. I really expected some sort of Los Campesinos like indie pop thing. Nevertheless, it's fulfilling my Spanish listening requirements, and it's not too bad either.

http://static.rateyourmusic.com/albu...s/s3565718.jpg

Gotye - Making Mirrors: Somebody That I Used to Know is a great song, but the rest is easily forgettable. Shame that a great melody went to waste in an average album.

Goofle 11-09-2012 12:19 PM

Recently downloaded this after accidently deleting my DJ Shadow folder. Brainfreeze is better, bit its still great.

olafgoesraawr 11-09-2012 01:41 PM

Have any of you guys heard of an English alt/indie rock band called Canterbury?

They have recently released an album called "Heavy In The Day", it's definitely on Spotify, iTunes and hmv.

Every single track stands out from another, their music is energetic and positive, and just full of flair.
Check them out, these guys are really doing a good job.

Justthefacts 11-09-2012 02:02 PM

W.A.S.P. - The Headless Children (1989)

I had a need for slick, late 80's proggy sleaze metal...and that need has now been quenched like a motherfucker. :pimp:

Always had a soft spot for Beach Boys Party, even if it's not musically all that interesting, and have been looking for a nice copy for a long time. Finally got one today.

Visions of the Emerald Beyond was really cheap, and I liked the Mahavishnu Orchestra's first two albums so I thought I'd give it a chance. I hear it's not as good as their other stuff but hey, I took a risk.

Godspeed album arrived in the mail and I picked up Hot Rocks by the Stones and a couple of Prince albums at Half-Price Books. Should be an intense night.

The mixes of the early Stones songs on Hot Rocks are so much nicer than the re-channeled stereo ones on the Big Hits compilation I had before...that alone makes the upgrade worthwhile for me. I've been on Prince spree lately. I need to find a nice copy of Dirty Mind and then perhaps I can take a break.

Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven is pretty awesome. I might have to pick up another album or two by Godspeed.

Wintersun - Time I (2012)

Holy crap Last.fm and RYM dropped the ball on telling me that this was released. I hope it can live up to the expectations, but considering I was only lukewarm on their debut, I'm not going to cry if this doesn't blow me away.

Mojo 11-11-2012 01:57 PM

This is pretty much what I've been buying over the last few weeks.

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i8...4/IMAG0188.jpg

The Sword - Apocryphon 2x Limited Turquoise LP & CD (2012) - Really blew me away. One of the best metal albums I've heard in a while. Still quite doomy in places but with a little hard rock/classic rock influence and they are starting to work occasional electronic elements into their sound as well.

Bong - Live at Roadburn Festival 2010 (2011)
Thankfully Burning World Records released their performance at the festival on LP and CD, because this is as close to the live Bong experience as has been captured on record.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - 'Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend! (2012)
I had to wait for weeks for my pre-ordered LP to come but it was worth the wait. Only listened to it once so far but first impressions were good. I look forward to repeated plays.

Godspeeed You! Black Emperor - F♯ A♯ ∞ (1997)
I had to buy a physical copy one day, as I love this record, and thankfully the LP is beautifully packaged. Well worth it.

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i8...4/IMAG0189.jpg

Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsys (1970)
I have this packaged on the same CD as Isle of Wight album but given how much I love this, I had to have the LP.

Bong - S/T (2012)
2009 LP debut release reissued on CD this year. I posted about it again not so long ago so I'll just say it's awesome.

Bong - Novum Castellum (2009)
Three discs of live performances in and around Newcastle released in a DVD case. I had a download of it but I do love this band, plus I was at a few of the gigs.

Electric Wizard - Legalise Drugs & Murder (2012)
The 7" EP from earlier this year issued on cassette exclusively covermounted with Terrorizer magazine. It features the two tracks from the EP and a few others, such as outtakes and demos.

Maybeshewill -
* Not For the Want of Trying (2008)
* Sing the Word Hope in Four-Part Harmony (2009)
* I Was Here For a Moment, Then I Was Gone (2011)
I felt a little guilty that I didn't own any of these yet, so when I was at their gig this week I bought all three of them. A post-rock band that still capture my attention.

Rodrigo y Gabriela:
* Live: Manchester and Dublin (2004)
* 11:11 (2009)
The live one was to replace a digital copy and I picked up 11:11 as well as I haven't heard that one yet.

The Jam - Sound Affects (1980)
I'm always surprised that I don't have a physical copy of this. It was about time.

The Kills - Blood Pressures (2011)
I haven't heard this one but I thought No Wow was alright.

Arcade Fire - Funeral (2004)
I'm not a HUGE fan of it but I did like it and so for £3 I'll have it!

Kiss - S/T (1974)
I don't listen to Kiss much but if I do it's this one or Alive! So again, for £3...

Cypress Hill:
*Black Sunday (1993)
* III (Temples of Boom) (1995)
Packaged together as a boxset for £3. Thats £1.50 each. Come on!

It's just so epic. Simple in a way, but so ambitious.

10/10

Welcome To: Our House by Slaughterhouse. Amazingly lyrical. Real hiphop. Eminem is a beast producer, my faves are Rescue Me, Our House, Goodbye and Throw It Away :D

White Pony by the Deftones is incredible. I just bought the new Anberlin record. didnt really dig it though, to poppy and mainstream club style for me

Cherry_Waves 11-12-2012 07:21 PM

Deftones - Koi No Yokan. New album <3

Justthefacts 11-12-2012 09:27 PM

Okay, I've come to my conclusion...

http://www.1000recordings.com/images...fjan-838-l.jpg

It truly is Sufjan Stevens masterpiece. It's subtle to an extent, yet so ambitious. 10/10

Could become one of my favorite albums over time

I actually got these a few days ago as well, although I have no idea why I haven't taken them out of my downloads folder yet.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...aL._SS500_.jpg
I've been trying to listen to a lot of Toby Driver's work recently, so I'm looking forward to listening to this later today.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61iWEV-W1tL.jpg
I felt like I needed some "pure" dark ambient in my collection, so I'll give this a listen later this week.

Aside from Darkspace's discography and a few other albums, I feel like stopping this huge download spree right now due to my hard drive having only a few GBs of space left.

Kelli 11-13-2012 09:27 AM

Just got the Killers latest album...

So far I'm not a fan, but I'm hoping that it grows on me.

I can't believe that I actually found a working link for this. What I heard so far sounds really promising, so I'll be giving this a listen tomorrow.
