oh yeah Lydia Lunch stills makes my stomach have butterflies :) |
I usually don`t buy albums, but the last downloaded album of mine is: Rated R by Rihanna:tramp:. I respect much her music, even I prefered the old Rihanna then her new style:dj:

I suppose "Shut Up And Drive" sounded pretty cool back then, but now I find her to be loved only for her sex appeal (a bit like Jon Bon Jovi)

I'm expecting this:

Elder - Dead Roots Stirring (2011) I'll be honest, I grabbed this solely because of the album art. It's very acceptable stoner rock/metal, but it sounds very samey and what I've expected from the genre. Still if you're into this genre, it's worth giving a listen if anything. |
Blind Guardian - Imaginations from the Other Side, Somewhere Far Beyond
Modest Mouse - The Moon & Antartica De La Soul - 3' High & Rising (Deluxe Edition) |
Los Campesinos! - Hello Sadness
http://hangout.altsounds.com/geek/ga...art_webuse.jpg Childish Gambino - Camp http://cdn.pigeonsandplanes.com/wp-c...bino-Camp.jpeg I look forward to listening to both of these later today. |

Myrath -Tales of the Sands (2011) I haven't listened to a lot of power or symphonic metal from this year, but this is probably one of the better albums out there. I like their blend of Middle Eastern sounds with their metal roots. They did it in such a way that doesn't seem to glaringly obvious, yet it was still noticeable, kind of like what Orphaned Land did. Also they're from Tunisia so I'm always looking to expand my collection of metal from places one wouldn't expect to find it. Recommended if you're into this kind of sound. |

Nah, not quite but it did catch my eye. Clutch was what I was after. Great slow and heavy stoner blues. The album cover art and insert material are pretty cool too. http://image.betamonline.com/sdimage...6308002125.jpg |

Kate Bush - 50 Words For Snow (2011) Picked this up today. The music for the most part is sparse and piano-led, it has an almost ambient feel to it which gives a nice feeling of winter landscapes. Her voice isn't quite what it was but it still suits the quiet nature of the music here so well. The music sounds timeless and the album sounds like it could have come out at any point in her career. The only real disappointment here is the title track which doesn't quite live up to it's interesting concept, other than that this will be a great album for dark winter evenings. I also found these for 2 euro each in a charity shop: http://img.noiset.com/images/album/s...ver-52149.jpeg Saint Etienne - Good Humor (1998) This seems a bit lighter and breezier than the other two Saint Etienne albums that I have, Foxbase Alpha and So Tough, but is still a very enjoyable album. When it comes to good pop music Saint Etienne pretty much have it nailed. http://img.noiset.com/images/album/h...work-54262.png Hooverphonic - A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular (1996) I enjoyed this quite a lot. It's more atmospheric and experimental compared to their most well-known album The Magnificent Tree and perhaps a bit closer to the typical sound of trip-hop. There's also some good use of electric guitar on some tracks to add texture. A great album. |
Lost Sounds - Lost Sounds.

Samantha Fish, Cassie Taylor, Dani Wilde - Girls with Guitars (2011) All-female blues rock band that rocks harder than most male driven blues rock. Definitely need to check this one out if you're into bands like The White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, and The Black Keys. |
