Youth is badass. I love it.

My most recent:
DJ Shadow - Entroducing...
Of Montreal - If He Is Protecting Our Nation...
Bright Eyes - Cassadaga
Kings Of Leon - Only By The Night

Really getting into Of Montreal lately.

I bought some Elvis CDs this summer after going to Graceland in Memphis.

Listening to this and seeing them live at least half a dozen times at the time of the debut, you too would be dissapointed with the direction they took.

Kirby I've never seen you talk about anything other than hip-hop, what kinds of rock and such are you into?

I listen to a wide variety of rock/metal/other such things.

Anything from Slipknot, In Flames, Nickelback, Zug Izland, Mudvayne, Blue October, One Minute Silence, Seether, and many more.
[These are just the one's I can think of this second.]

One of the reasons that I don't talk much about rock is that it's hard for me to find new bands that I actually like.
So, if you have any suggestions, let me know.

I talk more about Hip-Hop, though, because to me, there's a lot to like.
The Wordplay and such.
There's a lot more variety to it.

As an Australian, I should probably check out some more Midnight Oil. How are you finding that album?

It's a great album for sure. I've only managed to listen to it once, but I really like what I hear - Blue Sky Mine (which I think did quite well as a single) is an early highlight for me. Diesel & Dust and 10-1 are gonna take some beating though.

They're probably my favourite classic Aussie band (that said I'm no expert on the whole scene) - if you want any links to their stuff just let me know :)

I just received the new Cure CD 4:13, Rotersand's EP I Cry, and a classical box set (Karajan - Symphony Edition CD) in yesterday's mail. I'm glad about the Karajan because I pre-ordered that one months ago! I plan on taking it all in this weekend all while wrapping Christmas gifts (yeah, I got all of mine before Black Friday!)

99% of this site just rip their music, I use to pay for all of mine but since then have turned to the darkside.

Haha fair enough, just thought I'd clarify. I buy 99% of mine.

Awesome, awesome album.

Alfred 11-19-2008 04:37 PM

I rip 99% of mine. If I have some money, and I see an album I really like (that I've previously heard, usually), I'll pick it up.

Oh, and I downloaded:

The reason I post up 2-3 everyday is because I'm addicted to torrents. I'll only shell out cash if it's an album I know I'll be really into, and have the money readily available.

I love his s/t!
What should i get next?

Tyler Durden 11-19-2008 05:02 PM

My favorites by him is XO, S/T, and Either/Or.

But Roman Candle is really good too!

Alfred 11-19-2008 05:02 PM

I have XO on my computer, and I like it, so... maybe try it?

FaSho 11-19-2008 05:03 PM

Elliot Smith does not seem like your type of music, so if it's on your compute rit must be pretty good. I'll check it out.

FaSho 11-19-2008 05:09 PM

I just realized his s/t is tagged under "sadcore" lol.

sweet_nothing 11-19-2008 05:16 PM

Get Either/Or

I've got no problem with acoustic/folk music.
