Hmm, I hadn't thought of this as trip hop. But I suppose it does have traces of it, as does a lot of the other IDM/downtempo stuff I like that I've never considered trip hop. Hmm indeed. There are different ways to hear everything. Very good album though.

To be honest I was gauging that sound off a 30 second sound clip. After listening to the full album I have to agree with you that it's not very trip-hoppy at all. I have to agree with you though, very good album.

I Love YOu But I've Chosen Darkness - Fear Is On Our Side

Silly name but an awesomely atmospheric indie/ post-punk revival band.

Lol, and my post was written while listening to the 30-second clips on Amazon to refresh the memory. I guess the clips are misleading. Still, it's evident from the clips that there is some trace of trip-hop, it's just not the dominant style.

The Phuss - Wanted

I wish more indie rock could be this badass.

Ultra Violent Lights - Here In Filth

Calypso - Teen Age EP

Hecq - Night Falls

sidewinder if you're seeing and asking yourself if I'm last.fm stalking you, the answer is yes.

Lol...the only thing in that post I recognize is Hecq, and I haven't heard that particular album. But stalkers are always welcome.

R.E.M. - Lifes Rich Pageant
I was surprised to realize last night that I didn't have this one. So I got it.

PJ Harvey - Dry

Fantastic album. Not a huge fan of that one PJ Harvey album though; it's a little too overtly sexual.

Continued my weekend of nothing but new indie rock music (with a few exceptions), here's what I've been listening to today:

Outlaw Nation - New Day

Some truly amazing reggae mixed with hip hop and a touch of rock.

Amon Tobin - Supermodified

I quite enjoyed this album, but I felt that it seemed to meander around towards the end. Twice I thought I was on the last track when it turned out I still had two more to go. Overall though it was a very nice electronic album and I will seek out more from this particular artist.

Spiral Stairs - The Real Feel

This album has been fun but slightly schizophrenic, sometimes sounding like alternative country for one song then your typical jangly catchy indie rock. Both styles work really well for them, but it makes me wonder if I've got two albums merged together or something.

White Denim - Fits

Have yet to listen to this yet, but I liked the previews I found.

Atlas Sound - Logos

Haven't given a full listen yet

Soldout - Cuts

An interesting electronic sound that is fast pace and catchy.
