The most recent album I have picked up, and have been listening to practically non-stop is Reptilian by STRFKR. I had never heard of this Portland band until a co-worker, who basically only listens to indie rock and virtually nothing mainstream at all, was talking one day of how great they are live and all. And after scoring a free ticket to their show here in October, I got their most recent album from Amazon MP3. It's indie rock with synthisizers, electronics. It's not dance music, though. It hasn't left my CD player since I bought it, burned it onto a blank CD, and popped it in to push play for the first time.

Those 5 cd album series are great value, what do you think of these Todd Rundgren albums? I've been listening to a lot of his 70s material over the last few weeks.

i've only heard the first one

it's more "pop" oriented that the other two I have - "Something/Anything?" and "A Wizard A True Star" and i like it better because of that

The first 5 solo Todd Rundgren albums are all considered classics, the first album is probably the most pop as its just after his stuff with Nazz, the second album my least favourite is more ballad piano based. Something/Anything and Todd are the best two imo, followed by A Wizard A True Star. These albums have a much heavier experimental slant to them and Todd was always better on these type of albums than he was with his future stuff with Utopia.

Sometime/Anytime> Todd> A Wizard A True Star> Runt> Runt-Ballad of Todd Rundgren.

I'm a fan of this German instrumental doom band's first album but didn't realize until the other day that they released a second full-length several months ago. I've only listened once so far but it seems pretty good, not quite as heavy as it's predecessor and with more of a post-metal influence, but neither of those are bad things. It's some great, moody, late at night music. Worth a listen if you like that sort of thing.

Howard Devoto - Jerky Versions Of The Dream

Heard good things. Apparently a classic post-punk release. I am starting to reinvigorate my interest in the genre due to listening to Public Image Ltd. Got The Pop Group, Television, The Fall, Wire, Swell Maps and Magazine on cue.
