Raymond Scott - The Jingle Workshop: Midcentury Musical Miniatures 1951-1965

Quote:
Tingling tartness of jingle perfection! In addition to being a pioneer of early electronic music, Raymond Scott elevated the form of advertisement to an art. This first ever collection contains varying styles in both instrumentation and vocalization and previously unavailable electronic works! Products may contain soy, wheat, dairy, or Mel Tormé.

Recent vinyl purchases in rotation - Sun Ra's Sleeping Beauty and Art Ensemble of Chicago's Tutankhamun (aqua vinyl).

I liked the "Let's Have a Sackful of Krystals" jingle. It takes on a new meaning these days, though...

Let's have a sackful of Krystals
Let's have ourselves a treat
It's Krystal clear
It's a good idea
If you really want to rate
With your family or your date
Get the happy Krystal habit

Was at my fave record store today and found Space Museum by Solid Space in the ****ing dollar bin?!?! You know I got that ****. Also got a Never Gonna Give You Up 12", some random yodeling comp, Elliott Sharp's In the Land of the Yahoos, and Boulez conducts Ravel.

Got this cassette recently. Really good ****, a mainly post-punk and experimental mixtape by a techno legend.

Well the vocals on this are quite...something. The no wave tracks are sick though.
