Well they must have bought something to the Stone Roses , otherwise they would have ended up being as sh*t as The Seahorses.

They were a spent force as soon as Reni left the set-up. He was the man who provided the funk and gelled everything to gether to stop them becoming an another boring indie band.

Any other Stone Roses Fans Here?

Gotta love "I am the Resurrection".

We should change the name to The Stone Roses and move it to the Indie/Alt section.

The Stone Roses deserve a thread of their own.

Their S/T

Its a shame no one really knows about them in the USA.

Their best song IMO, I may actually prefer The Happy Mondays, but they are great Squire is an epic guitarist.

Maybe that's because they haven't released any worthwhile music in 20 years? Believe me, when they did, they were popular as hell in the US.

So in America people forget about bands just because they've stopped making music?

With the first Album and "Fools Gold," and even going back to "Sally Cinnamon," they had plenty of classic hooks. I stand by all of that. (Going by the first proper album release).

Their second album is only a pale shadow, but then again, it was created after a forced moment of silence (lawsuits and all that...), so it's understood where the fire died out. With "10 Story love Song" still playing in my mind years after the tape expired, to me there was at least a bit if all too short magic in there.

As for The Seahorses...sorry. Tons of potential sadly led up to a half-powered album with maybe a good moment or two in my opinion if I'm on a good day.

Enough of the crapping on. It's time to remember why they are remembered - a crowning album of 1989, the moment when things had to change quick. No better album did that than the S/T classic.
