Miserable bastards
Whats wrong with a little upbeat funky music for the summer. |
theres nowt wrong with upbeat.
but theres everything wrong with gnarls barkley. well okay, not everything, but if it wasnt for his voice & the general repititiveness [sp?] of everything, it wouldnt be quite so mindnumbingly awful. |
I want to know how many people are talking about the band and how many are talking about the single.
I suspect in most cases it`s the latter |
im talking about the single :)
but then, ive only heard one other track, & ive had no desire to listen again. like i said, show me a standout track, & ill give it a shot. |
I'm rather indifferent to Gnarls Barkley. I just find a dissappreciation thread of any sort stupid.

Here , listen to the other 3 |

It can serve a purpose, especially if it goes some way to encourage people to see past the single and have a good listen to the album. Album of the year for me, but that's just my opinion. |
I rather like Gnarls Barkley.

It was a sunny day, and a mate of mine said he'd brought this funky new album. I was like okay, lets hear it then, you listen to some crap but I know your not likely to make me gag. He puts the disc in: "a ring ding ding ding weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" Crazy Frog. For fuck sake. Then two weeks later he says he's got this funky new tune on his cell, it was batman. So thats the last time I trust anything thats 'funky'. Funky sounds queer enough as it is without being associated to bad music. Shit this is almost good enough for the bitch box. |
It's not my usual cup of char, but the whole album's grown on me to the point it's included in the selection that randomly plays in my car.
For that to happen it must be an extraordinary listen for me to be worthy of travelling with me.:) |

same here. I see the appeal for the trendy myspace kids, but apparantly he's got some of you fooled as well. *feels bad* |
There are some good funky rap groups out there, but nowadays they're awful hard to find, some people just prefer to keep it old school.

"Crazy" is an awesome song.
*rebels against thread title* |
I happen to like Gnarls Barkley.........call me crazzzzzzy, but I do.
|
gnarls barkley
so this music is pretty decent as far as rap goes. im impartial to transformer, myself..
|
The only songs i dont like on the album are Transformer and gone daddy gone...my favourite songs are St.Elsewhere, Who Cares, Crazy, and My Ultimate favourite...Smiley Faces

I'm downloading this album because I suppose it's something I should be aware of. |
Im not sure if its a cover...all i know is that the song gets on my nerves....but the album in general is good
|
Yea it's a cover. Those vocals don't work. The mix is pretty damn good but those vocals just suck it up. Um, so, I listened just finished listening to their last/(first?) album and it's pretty good. Smiley Faces is the highlight of this album. Just a great song and then it's followed by a song that's complete shit. But over all, yea, pretty good.
|
Yeah...Smiley Faces has got SOUL!
|
Pure Motown throwback. :)
|
Do you know any other bands....new or old...that have the same feel of the more Motown songs on that album?
|
60's R&B band The Originals, with an upbeat song in particular called Suspicion.
Worth tracking down. |
Alright thanks a million man
|
Gnarls Barley ain't rap foo'
But they are okay, I'll give them that. I like..um. Crazy of course, and Who Cares? and I can basically just listen to the entire album through. It's aight. |
