gracias mi amor

Mephistopheles 07-13-2006 07:40 PM

*bump*

I was gonna make a new topic about this til I found this old one. Anyways, I just bought St. Elsewhere a couple days ago, and I'm ****ing addicted. Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse, great collaboration. I'd say it's better than Dangerdoom. Anyone else agree??

andy 08-17-2006 11:06 AM

Now here's some good music, not all mainstream music is bad you know:D

Anyhoo, St. Elsewhere is good, love the vid for Smiley Faces:pimp:

Gnarls Barkley is awesome, especially for the songs he writes

Mhhh, hence the other guy. -feels quite dumb-

Ok, another try:

I hate them!

andy 08-17-2006 02:09 PM

There is nothing wrong with them

under 08-25-2006 05:38 PM

I actually really enjoy listening to them. They have awesome voices.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 08-27-2006 02:13 PM

ieosfnlcjnwenfwqef.
screw everyone that tried to get me into them.
twice. in the eye.
catchy does not equal good, it equals irritating & tormenting.
in this case ¬.¬

adidasss 08-27-2006 06:36 PM

someone has discovered the wonders of The Faint?;)

shemightbelinzy 08-27-2006 10:08 PM

Gnarles is zee ****

Sweet ass beats - goofy frontmen - uniquely bold vocals.
they are tight. i've listened to cee-lo's soul machine CD, its allright. i've never listened to dangermouse's solo shiz. the duo G.Barkley is superior.

i would say outkast, maybe even Jurassic 5 may get ur groove goin if you like gnarles barkely.

cheers!

jaded 08-28-2006 10:40 PM

one word, no

adidasss 02-07-2008 02:41 PM

The new album's called The Odd Couple and it comes out April 15th. The single Run is out, has anyone heard it and what are your opinions...?

I've only skimmed through it, I think I'll have to wait to hear it in the context of the entire album. Hopefully my opinion will improve...:\

right-track 02-07-2008 02:48 PM

I'll be happy if it's only half as good...which it probably won't be. :(

adidasss 02-07-2008 02:53 PM

I know what you mean, it's almost impossible that it lives up to my expectations...http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...power/sigh.gif

jackhammer 02-07-2008 06:49 PM

St.Elsewhere is a good solid album and recieved plenty of Juice bar airplay at time of release. I will definitely check out their follow up.

djchameleon 02-08-2008 11:59 AM

thats funny that you bring that news up....I was listening to St. Elsewhere yesterday......

right-track 02-29-2008 01:03 PM

Gnarls Barkley's vid isn't released yet so this will have to do for now.

New release 'Run'.
Apparently, the upcoming video features a Justin Timberlake cameo, as a geek...no change there then.

^ Answer the man...

jackhammer 02-29-2008 01:27 PM

Yeah I like it a lot. I love that snare sound, it has a real lo fi dirty 60s soul sound.

haveyouheard 02-29-2008 01:31 PM

The new single's been leaked, and I think it sounds great! It's not the megahit that crazy was, but I have faith from that single that Odd Couple will be a good follow up to St. Elsewhere

CutiePants 02-29-2008 03:37 PM

Admittedly I have not the heard the whole St. Elsewhere album but I DON"T WANT TO!!!! I find Gnarls Barkley to be beyond annoying, I can't stand them. If I never hear that damn Crazy song again it will be too soon. Lose the lame costumes and **** too, there's a difference between being creative and original and being schtick disguised as creative and original....JMO

jackhammer 02-29-2008 04:39 PM

Crazy was a fairly unoriginal song but their hook is their simplicity. In this day and age of RnB meaning booty shakin' unoriginal pap, Gnarls Barkley delivered an album that revelled in the art of the song and classic composition. I happen to love the fact that they fly in the face of convention while making completely commercial music.

CutiePants 02-29-2008 04:43 PM

i can respect that. i don't write or read music, i don't play an instrument I suppose I wouldn't know a great composition if it hit me in the face. i just know what i like and what i don't. :)
