Default Worst Songs/Bands Ever

Please post here your opinion of the worst songs and bands ever and why if you please.

"God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood- A one-hit wonder that never ceases to induce my gag reflex. This blindy patriotic, flag-waving tripe (no matter how falsely patriotic or just plain badly-written) has inspired more **** like it. (Like the song below).

"Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue"- same reasons as above, except this one is also a war anthem which makes it that much worse.

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana- This band, with this song more than any other, inspired a generation of drug users to bang out power chords and yell.

I'm sure I will add more, but it is bands/performers that come to mind more than songs when I think of bad music so here are some of them:
Some of these aren't neccessarily bad (B) just overrated (O) which I will indicate.

Nirvana (see above)- B
Toby Kieth (see above)- B
Kiss- O
The Cure- B
Black Flag- O
The Vines- B
Slayer- B
All of the pop girls (Britney, Christina, etc.)
Just about every rapper on pop radio right now (they are too numerous to list)

how can you name nirvana in that list! they didn't inspire a generation of drug users, they inspired a generation of musicians tp push their music further, and find meaning in the lyrics they wrote. they gave voice to what hundreds of thousands of people felt, but couldn't express, they created some of the most profound and meaningful lyrics in recent times, and they were an amazingly talented band both lyrically and musically. if you're going to name nirvana in that list, your going to have to come up with a better reason that that, because it just isn't true.

They actually had another one, about three months after, and it was even worse. Enough said.

I was too specific. I should have gone with every single song they ever made.

Toby Keith - "American Soldier." Worst sounding, most exploitative song ever written in the history of music. Keith's recording priveleges should be taken away. Besides that, anything recorded by the younger sibling of somebody famous. (Ashlee Simpson, Aaron Carter, etc.) There's plenty more but that's all I can think of at the moment.

I'll have you know before Tubthumping,Chumbawumba were a fine punk/anarchy band. They had some great albums out, namely Pictures of starving children sell records and Never mind the ballots ( a toast to democracy).

Completley agree on the Nirvana thing, the unplugged album was the best of the unplugged series,it showed what a talented bunch of performers and composers they were/are.

^ well, i'm bored so i'll humor you by actually posting some lyrics, kind of like someone taking pitty on a little child who doesn't understand why 2 plus 2 equals four, so they explain it very slowly, and using small, simple words to get the point across. I know for a fact that you have no idea what you're talking about, solely on your statement that they only bang out power chords. if you've ever looked at the music that they wrote, you would know better. but back to humoring the little ignorant child, here's some lyrics:

scentless apprentice:

Like most babies smell like butter
his smell smelled like no other
he was born scentless and senseless
he was born a scentless apprentice

Go away - get away, get away, get a-way
every wet nurse refused to feed him
electrolytes smell like semen

I promise not to sell your perfumed secrets
there are countless formulas for pressing flowers

I lie in the soll and fertilize mushrooms
Leaking out gas fumes are made into perfume

You can't fire me because I quit
Throw me in the fire and I won't throw a fit

rape me:

Rape me
Rape me my friend,
Rape me,
Rape me again.
I'm not the only one
Hate me,
Do it, and do it again.
Waste me,
Rape me, my friend.

My favorite inside source,
I'll kiss your open sores,
Appreciate your concern
You'll always, stink, and burn.

i've accepted that all that was probably in vain, if you can't understand the meaning behind smells like teen spirit, i have no hope that you could possibly comprehend what these songs mean. but like I said, i was bored, and that helped kill some time, so thank you for that.
