Pretty sure I used it properly... I think?

Looks like she just affirmed her own illiteracy.

I feel that way about most Emo music, doesn't stop me from enjoying it though. Actually, now that I think about it, maybe that's why I do enjoy it.

Pinkerton is barely emo though? More just pop punk really. As for the rest of their stuff I'd just call it power pop.

He did say post-pinkerton. About half of that was Pinkerton.

Lyrically I would say their early material is without a doubt classified as emo, their latest as well. They do take a power pop approach instrumentally though, no disagreements there.

I don't really see how. I mean, some of their stuff is a little emo-ish, but not like Mineral, Cap'n Jazz, or even Get Up Kids for that matter were.

Lyrically, I'd say only Say It Ain't So and Pinkerton are at all emo. In the Garage, Surf Wax America, Hash Pipe are all quirky nerd anthems.

I haven't put a ton of a thought into it really, I've just always been under the impression they considered themselves to be an emo band. The nerd anthem thing is true, but I only really consider their first two albums to be "emo" and the latest to be a slight return to that.
