I think she's talking about the Bends, but I could be wrong.

Pablo Honey to me is laden with grunge and American college rock influences. Thom Yorke has said REM, Pixies and Nirvana were big influences on the band at the time and i think it shows. It doesnt sound very British at all to me.

on evenings and weekends (yeah yeah) the Holy Bible is better and more relevant than Revolver and OK Computer put together. OK Revolver is epic fail. This takes into account certain free album giveaways, which was either a savvy marketing move to increase fan loyalty and sell tickets or a heartfelt attempt to make people question the value of music these days, I imagine both. But I digress

Eyeless In Gaza did Post-Punk better than Joy Division, Gang Of Four and just about anyone else you can think of.

what's the most unpopular music opinion anyone can think of? The Beatles were crap? A Starbucks Caffé Americano and a firm handshake from George W. Bush is worth fifty 'Highway 61's?

I don't want to assert my musical identity in this thread anymore, I just want to work out what will result in the most pages of back and forth arguing. Like lucifer_sam but without the actual conviction. Then we can move on to making better threads

Black people have had virtually no impact on western music in the past hundred years or so?

Not saying I actually think that, mind you. But if you want a really unpopular opinion go with that one.

and on that note i think the thread has reached it's inevitable conclusion. goodnight Washington!

now do something useful with your lives and go to the Simply Saucer thread and hit Stu up for an album, then proceed to your nearest bridge and jump off. But say your prayers first

Yeh well, I insulted Joy Division.

Gotta side with Stu here - if thats what is really meant, Pablo Honey sounds alot more like US centric grunge / alt rock than anything Radiohead ever went on to make...

I have another potentially unpopular musical belief...

Pearl Jam actually got better with every succesive release, and Ten and Vitalogy are by far their least great albums...
