Art is art. Whatever an artist thinks is valid is valid and whatever the listener thinks is valid is valid. You can debate whatever but it's a pretty obvious point that doesn't even need to be debated in a larger sense unless you're talking to a pleb.

If you've never really gotten into video games, as you never seem to have, then I wouldn't expect you to get it (honestly no offense), but video games made well evoke very specific emotional and mental responses in much the same but still unique ways that any form of art does. It's functionally art even if it's not treated as art.
