I’m not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, per se, but I find a lot of comfort in songs by The Vogues.

Interesting. I only know The Cars' big 1980s feminist anthem, Drive, which owes nothing to this song. BUT I've been forever meaning to listen to their earlier stuff which I heard was in a more postpunk vein.

Speaking of unpopular opinions, Eno said his favorite RM album was the one they did after his departure, Stranded. Which is a fantastic album, but not as epoch-making as FYP.

I give Eno credit for his honesty. He didn't say "yeah, that band really sucked after I left", like a lot of musicians would.

I've said it before but I'll say it again. This album is 1 LP's worth of great songs surrounded by 2 LP's worth of mediocre and forgettable filler...
