Ive actually never liked the original. Thats not because im a Buckley fanboy, i just dont feel it at all. Rufus Wainwrights version was great too. There are actually quite a few versions out there that are decent, and i prefer them all to the original.

It all depends on mood as to what my relationship with Cohen is like but in general yeah, i like a bit of Cohen from time to time.

Hmm I guess you just love the covers too much, it's nowhere near Cohen's top songs but still amazing.

I'm with mojopin, I don't know how John Cale drew the version that is so often covered out of that Leonard Cohen song, it does nothing for me.

I think i know what you mean. I think alot of people have drawn some real emotion out of their versions of it, whereas i think the original is quite flat and just doesnt really strike a chord with me at all.
