o yeah? I kinda agree, they are good fun - can't beat a bit of 'Lou's Anxiety Song'. But hardly anyone apart from devout 80s hardcore fans would know of them if it wasn't for the Dino Jr connection.

Of course. They would still be great without the dino jr connection, they had a big influence of power violence along with some of their peers like Seige.

Enough to decide that it doesn't do anything for me. Talk Talk and Slint are generally classed as the forerunners of Post Rock and I much prefer the experimental slant that Talk Talk had. Their Jazzy overtones lead me to bands like Maudlin Of The Well and Kayo Dot who are quite simply different class and a perfect example of what Post Rock is about.
