I'm not sure "real screamo blows" is unpopular, be it on this forum or IRL

Regardless, I agree

It's not unpopular in real life, but I actually disagree, it may sound the same, but I do like the fact, that as cliche as it sounds, the singers actually do sound passionate and pained, it's great for when you are feeling shitty or angsty.

Can't think of anyone who'd disagree with that opinion though.

And they all have stupid band names that are either really long (like 'The Birds are Spies, They Report to the Trees' or 'I Wrote Haikus About Cannibalism In Your Yearbook' or 'Noisy Sins of the Insect') or some obscure reference to God knows what ('The Khayembii Communiqué' or 'Loma Prieta' or 'The Death of Anna Karina' or 'June Paik' or 'Yaphet Kotto' etc. etc.), but that's not really 'unpopular'.

yeah but tons of people have their definition of "real screamo". But i would agree that tonsssss of it does sound very similar. I don't get how they make an album and say "yeah that's definately our sound". but maybe they don't.

Stupid people and young people easily succumb to good marketing, it's nothing new.

I love Justin Bieber. *blushes shamefully, then converts feelings of shame into anger and self-righteousness* LEAVE BIEBER ALONE!

"Baby" by Justin Bieber DEFINED my second semester last year. I will defend that song to the day I die. I don't love it or anything, but I've got a soft spot for it. I don't care how poor the rest of his work happens to be.

Also, I'm not sure of anybody's opinion on TMV here but it's usually severely negative where I go, so Frances the Mute is utterly great and I feel that much of the hate TMV is rooted in Pitchforkdom, At The Drive-In nostalgia, and indie pop wishes.

Or something...
