Yawn!

I should probably leave these forums and never come back now.

Astronomer 04-30-2010 04:50 PM

I think Hybrid Theory and Meteora are actually pretty good for what they are. Reanimation I also really enjoy. The others are blergh though, especially Minutes to Midnight and the new one that I never bothered to listen to.

Seltzer 04-30-2010 06:40 PM

I've always liked Cure for the Itch.

maybe i should give that another listen!

clutnuckle 04-30-2010 08:44 PM

The only classic Wu-Tang album that truly stands true is Liquid Swords. 36 Chambers is decent and OB4CL is laughable.

That's an unpopular opinion? I thought those were pretty well liked albums in Zappa's discography.

snagglepuss 05-02-2010 07:34 PM

I don't get Bruce Springsteen and I hate Frank Sinatra. unpopular? Probably.

IWP 05-03-2010 12:14 PM

Oooh ohh, I got some moar!!!!

Dubstep is only good to listen/dance to when you're ****ed up (i.e. drunk, high, etc.)
Most drum & bass music, especially jump up sounds the same
I think it's good for music to be a little cheesy, just as long as it's not too cheesy. (which is why I love 80s pop, eurodance, disco, and glam metal.)

I think these are probably fairly popular opinions shared by people that don't listen to electronic music. And that's a VERY large part of the population. Most would say it all sounds the same.

IWP 05-03-2010 12:48 PM

The only thing is I love electronic music, though I'm mainly a house, trance, and eurodance kind of person. Though, I do listen to most of the other genres.

Springsteen wants to make me hurt myself
also PA bros represent

sidewinder 05-03-2010 02:42 PM

I'm with you guys on Springsteen.

As for Frank Sinatra, I'm not part of the demographic (yet), so I have no opinion.

James 05-03-2010 03:27 PM

Stereophonics are good

cocopufftrix 05-03-2010 05:47 PM

Lady Gaga can actually sing.

RVCA 05-03-2010 06:03 PM

Lady Gaga worked hard and deserves the attention she gets

They have a handful of alright songs.. that's about the nicest thing I can say about them. I own their greatest hits and that just about does it.

clutnuckle 05-03-2010 06:20 PM

Justin Bieber is not the problem with modern music, by a long shot.

I saw stereophonics supporting ac acoustics at nottingham rock city in 1997. no one really knew who they were but they completely rocked. It was obvious they were going to be massive. that was a great gig but I don't really rate any of their tunes that much (if that makes sense?). like you say a handfull of alright songs.

TheCunningStunt 05-03-2010 06:45 PM

Speaking off the phonics - Stereophonics storm offstage at Singapore concert - Band halt show after Kelly Jones is hit in the face by a flip-flop.

RVCA 05-03-2010 07:02 PM

Stereophonics have ONE song that I LOVE - Dakota. The rest is pretty not good.

Lil Wayne, Young Money, and Slipknot are.

RVCA 05-03-2010 08:41 PM

Slipknot?

IWP 05-04-2010 10:50 AM

Yes, most Slipknot fans are pretenious douches that don't give two ****s about music and just use their ****ty music tastes as a way to show off how gawth and "hardcore" they are, and they just keep growing in numbers.

RVCA 05-04-2010 11:01 AM

Well, you should have said "slipknot fans" and not just "slipknot", lol. I like Slipknot, but I'm not anything that you listed. (or at least I hope I'm not)

OctaneHugo 05-04-2010 02:22 PM

Slipknot and most of their contemporaries make me want to jump off a bridge

Engine 05-04-2010 03:31 PM

In my experience hating Slipknot is not unpopular at all

Well, if you just replace adjectives for the appropriate band, this paragraph could be used to describe any band's fanbase.

mr dave 05-04-2010 04:44 PM

i actually like everything i've heard by Slipknot (mind you it's only a handful of tracks but still).

RVCA 05-04-2010 04:46 PM

Agreed. Dead Memories, Spit It Out, Vendetta... they're fun to listen to.

Nine Black Poppies 05-04-2010 05:01 PM

Even downright pretty on occasion.

Paying for opportunities such as gigs and promotion is wrong??? Even though, this is spine of todays current music business - the only difference is that with the labels your spending on a credit card. Very interesting topic.

I happen to think Spit It Out is a very good track and there are a couple on volume 3 that are good too. There are far worse bands out there and it's no worse than a lot of similar music that is accepted.

uhh... what?

i can't tell what side of that issue you're on. or what issue you think is an interesting topic (paying to play or the economics of playing music).

agreed though to be honest i only know the half dozen songs they've released for rockband / guitar hero. i think they're one of those bands that gets crapped on more because of the cult-ish behaviour of some of their more obsessed fans than their actual output.
