Exactly why they still exist...
I even make up my own names for sub-sub-sub genres! But I don't tell anyone what they are lest I accidentally start another genre name trend.

Why do you insist on reifying sub genres of animal shit?
Seriously though, while you could have just as easily said bullshit to convey what you mean, a lot of sub genres and sub sub genres of music have actual linguistic distinctions and different meanings. The idea of genres itself is no different really. You do agree that there are different genres of music I hope.

Man. I keep thinking of more:

Janet Jackson's music is infinitely better than Michael's.

I almost agree. But instead of "infinitely", I'd say "a bit." Both had their high and low points when it comes to music. And I think Michael was a better singer (that might be an unpopular opinion in itself).

That's an interesting one. I wouldn't say 'infinitely' but, as an entire body of work, I probably prefer Janet too. And if they had let girls in the Jackson 5, I may even go ahead and say infinite.

And here's one of my own: unpopular among the experienced fans of distinguished music I think.
I really, truly like this Lana Del Rey album.

I'm in love with Born to Die. Regardless of how plastic she as a person is, her music is damn good.

Can't agree here. I think she is a breath of fresh air to some degree within mainstream circles, but her music is so shallow and devoid of any actual meaning or thought process that I can't get behind it.

Bah. Horseshit is just second wave post-bullshitcore watered down for the masses.
