I think if the general perception is that you're good, and that you're known, then the last thing you'd be is underrated. In fact, I think that'd literally be the definition of being "properly rated" is that you're rated by many, and that those ratings are generally favorable.

I'd put her more in the overrated category, because her music wasn't all that great for all of the accolades she's received.

When she was all over the news as a train wreck I could go for days without any mention of her music. She may have gotten a degree of fame for her music, but by the time her life took a nosedive her music had been completely overshadowed.

Lol @ all the Jackson talk here. There's never been any hard evidence he did any of the things he was accused of, and anyone who has bothered to watch a documentary on him or saw even a cursory interview anytime throughout the 80's, 90's and early 2000's can attest that MJ might as well have been a 12 year old child trapped in an older body: the dude is so dysfunctional its a wonder he's managed to have sex with anyone at all. I doubt he's ever felt like a real adult in his life, so making friends with kids was probably easier for him than relating with people in his own age group or older. That being said, he always was an incredibly strange individual, but its precisely because he's so strange that there were so many attempts to extort him financially throughout his life. When you A. hang out with kids all the time, B. have a reputation for eccentricity and C. Are worth more money than Fort Knox...yeah, your pretty much the biggest target on the planet in a legal sense for anyone who thinks they can get away with it.

By who? People in the media, or people who actually listen to music? Two different things, if the people who actually listen to music began to question her music because she was doing drugs, then yeah she may have somehow become underrated during that time, I guess. Otherwise, I think it's more likely that it was all just blown out of proportion by the media, as is the case with almost everything else that they report.

I said nearly the same exact thing in a different thread a couple of weeks ago. I think he was a weird dude, and an easy target. He might have done it, he might not have done it, and we might never know the truth, but it's never been proven that he did anything that he was accused of.

Lol troll harder bro. I explained things quite succintly in my last post. There are have been MULTIPLE occasions where people have tried to extort Jackson over child molestation charges since the early 90's, and guess what? No hard evidence was uncovered in any of the cases. Trust me, if there was actually something to any of those charges, something truly conclusively damning would have been unearthed and used as leverage. It was in a LOT of people's interests to prove Jackson's alleged pedophilia all the way back in like 1991...so why wasn't anyone able to prove it?

You just have to understand that if you can't prove a hard case against somebody with at a super celebrity level of coverage and exposure like Jackson was, then guess what? The charges were likely bullshit to begin with. I doubt the guy could even eat breakfast in the morning back in the 80's without ten reporters watching him through a window somewhere: if the guy had ever really touched a kid, you would have a helluva lot more testimonials about those tendencies from all kinds of 3rd parties. I feel sorry for the kids who were told by their parents to go along with their lies, but people will do anything for a million dollar handout. And nothing grabs headlines like a high-profile charge against the King Of Pop.
