Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the greatest songs ever made and is FAR from cheesy. Just because it is overplayed does not mean it is cheesy.

The song is so complex it is unfair to post one portion of the song and define the song by that one portion. Mercury did alot of different things lyrically through out the song that is FAR from cheesy. I love Bohemian Rhapsody. I cried the first time I heard it along with We are the Champions

True. The fact that it's cheesy means it's cheesy. I'm pretty sure that was the intent.

I think you'll find that the members of Queen did consider it to be a tongue in cheek effort. They knew the bizarre lyrical content wouldn't be taken seriously. I think personally there is alot of amazing song structure to it and Mercury is an amazing vocalist but its certainly not to be taken seriously.

Thanks because I was actually unaware of this. When I first heard the song I actually thought the song was deeper than what some here are implying.

Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye everybody I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth

I am not sure if this is based off of a personal experience of Freddie's or not but when I hear lyrics such as this, "cheesy" does not come to my mind.

Maybe certain sections within the song are not meant to be taken seriously but I think there is a hidden message to this song. I think the song is unique and challenges the listener to at least think about what is being described. The song really touches me personally. It is one of my favorite songs

Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody is mild cheesy, 80's hair metal is blue cheesy.

Its one of those songs that is an easy target for sure. I think its genius in structure, Brian May is great instrumentally. Mercurys vocals while meshed with playful lyrics in the song, still are coupled with an amazing vocal effort. He has an almost operatic take on this song and his range is amazing and his tone is impeccable. I get why people don't like the song for various reasons, but there is no denying that Mercury put his heart and soul into the song.

Yeah I guess, but intentionally cheesy is just as annoying to me.

Death Grips' Exmilitary and Government Plates are both better than The Money Store. The danciness of TMS turns me off of it a bit. Still a great album though, and I like it better than No Love.
