C'mon.

2pac was heavily criticized as well for his music and his political opinions. I am not suggesting that was the reason for his death BUT he was bashed because his music and his messages was viewed as a threat in the mainstream.

The poster made a good point that I agreed with.

Current hip hop mainstream radio music predominately targets white middle class that was a point he made that just so happens to be true.

That IS why it is popular.

I just simply said that it is sad that the system has water down the purpose of why hip hop was created.

No, I'm pretty sure I like it, sometimes, when it happens to be good. NO, you're right, it makes me very comfortable hearing angry black people shouting about how they blame white people for their problems, and that violence is the answer to said problem. LOL

So it is okay for white cops to beat and pull black people over for no reason but black people are not suppose to be angry or vent about it? Black people are suppose to be okay with the fact that they are socioeconomically underprivileged and not be angry about it?

Yeah they hated him so much they just disguised the sweary bits with record scratches & played them anyway.

I guess violence, writing diss songs and making threats within the black community is ok then.

You might want to take a step back and acknowledge the fact that Hip Hop mostly started out as party anthem club music. Look at Rapper's Delight. It was DJ scratching, MCs doing their thing and Break dancers getting down.

Conscious hip hop didn't come until a bit later with Grandmaster Flash's The Message and Public Enemy.

Also don't try to pass off Tupac like he was some patron saint. He had a few conscious songs but most of the rest of his material was gangsta rap, party songs and fucking women.

So since 2Pac was all over the radio and sold millions of albums I guess it's safe to assume he was designed to make white people comfortable.
