What about jazz? a huge proportion of jazz has no lyrics whatsoever. Are you saying that those musicians are **** because they don't have lyrics, does that make The Backstreet boys better than every symphony of every composer in the history of classical music?
When did I say lyrics had anything to do with it? I said THAT BANDS LYRICS. I was talking about a specific band rehashing the same lyrics over and over. Learn to read. Don't even bring up jazz when you're talking about korn. It's an insult to music.

C'mon Adam. Stop being stupid.
He was boring. If he wrote his parts in pantera songs then I'm still gonna say he was some ****. Solo, metal riff shred lather rinse repeat. ****'s dead and lame like it was back then.

He was one of the most consistant soloist of all time.

alaskan arson (4:17:04 PM): what was Dimebag good at again?
alaskan arson (4:17:07 PM): Harmonic bends?
MomentIsSetMagic (4:17:29 PM): dimebag had perfect picking and legato
MomentIsSetMagic (4:17:46 PM): the thing he was most known for is live performances that recreate the albums exactly

MomentIsSetMagic is one of my friends who's majoring in Performance Guitar and Theory.

Sean > you (at music. Not at being awesome )

Yes, you THAT BANDS LYRICS. I'M saying that you're argument for why KoRn are sh*t is based upon that fact alone, and that if that's your argument then it's seriously flawed. You can't say this band;s lyrics are **** so that makes them **** but it doesn't count for anyone else. It's a nonsensical, stupid argument.

And I never said Korn were in any way like classical music, RAR, I was just proving that lyrics alone have nothing to do with a band's ability to make good music, it has to do with every component of every song, be it the lyrics or the rhythm or the melody or something else. If a band is crap it has no skill in any of these areas, or the vast majority of them anyway.

You know who else is techniclly really good? Zach Wylde. He's also one of the most bland guitar players I've ever heard.

Ok fine. Korn rehash the same chords over and over. They have a sound like most bands do, except theirs is bland. It's simple. Predictable and w/o any substance.

Every song? EVERY song is the same? same chords, same lyrics? is that what you're saying? cause if it is, you have seriously lost track of you're arguments, not to mention that fact that you're changing your argument every time I prove you wrong? Can't you just admit that the reason you don't like KoRn Isn't because they're Sh*t and can't create and play good music, but that it's not you're personal taste in music?

How about this, Korn is boring, monotnous, talentless, shallow band. If you like them that's fine that's fine. But if you're going to support their song writing ability then just shut up because they're watered down rock that couldn't do anything original is their dick counted on it.

If you say that then I disagree. I know I will always be at arms with everyone in this thread about this, but just because YOu all don't like them doesn't automatically make then sh*t. All of you seem to be saying that they're not original. Can you name one band that came before them that sounds like them, that did the same things that they do?

I'm not changing anything. You are the one who keeps bringing up different ****. They don't play good music. This is a fact. It's basic. They write atrocious lyrics. They have the same sound for all of thier stuff. There is no progression in it. Please go back and re-read what I have been saying. I'm tired of repeating myself. I'm giving you facts. Listen to them and then listen to Yes or Rush. Hell even the Mars Volta is a good example of what a band progressing really is. Korn is not. They're a ****ty nu metal band. This goes beyond personal preference. I wouldn't say anything if you hadn't actually called them talented and progressive.

and oh god I better add this before you cry. When I say same sound, I don't mean it sounds like the exact same song over and over like say...all shall perish (bahahahah). I mean they have a set sound and they don't break from it at all.
