If you ever decide to look into more power metal then I'm sure your appreciation of those bands will grow and your like for Dragonforce will decrease just like people tend to like Slipknot less and less when they start listening to more and more metal.

Oh and to Briks, obviously you should make up your own mind, but listening to an entire Dragonforce album is probably not going to be a very rewarding experience. All the songs sound pretty much exactly the same: weedly weedly verse/chorus, weedly weedly verse/chorus, even more weedly weedly solo that lasts for at least two minutes (I've counted), and then weedly weedly verse/chorus. Granted, plenty of bands do this but Dragonforce make an art form out of putting as little variety as possible into their albums. Honestly there's probably about as much variety on one of their albums as on a death metal album.

I think people like Slipknot less and less the more albums Slipknot put out. I still think their first one is ok

That, and I know for a fact that some people on this site rate NDR a good deal higher than Zen Arcade, hence I consider the opinion unpopular in Music Banter terms as well.
But have you got everyone on Musicbanter's opinion regarding Zen Arcade vs New Day Rising? I prefer Zen Arcade a tiny bit more than NDR. Take that into account. That said, neither of them is my favourite Husker Du album.

Also, wouldn't the mere fact that they're typically held in almost equally high regard make the suggestion that one is better than the other unpopular in and of itself?
No because I said almost equally. One's bound to be favoured slightly over the other.

Well of course I haven't got every MusicBanter member's, or even every regular's opinion on the matter, that would be damn near impossible. Note that I said "some people on this site".
(Maybe I should start a Vs thread to gather opinions on it...)

That bit was to an extent intended as a joke (hence the blinking smiley) so you may ignore it. I did know that that argument wasn't quite coherent, lol.

Im a little ashamed of this one but f*ckit~

Bo Burnham

Being a comedic music act makes ppl think Bo Burnham is a joke, also he is very popish and plays into popular fads for attention but at his core i think he is a true musician.

he's a great lyricist, even if you don't like his music you still gotta give him props for how he plays with words

Also he can play a decent piano, i luv the piano melody in his song Art is dead.

This is crazy, absolutely crazy!

Zen Arcade is my favourite, for years it was New Day Rising though. Took a while for the whole of Zen Arcade to click, although I could still do without the last song most of the time, interesting as it can be. The raw energy of Zen Arcade is captivating, and defines what I like most about Husker Du.

Metal Circus is up there too, some amazing songs on that one.

Candy Apple Grey - maybe I'll give it another shot - I thought it was good but not on the level of their earlier records.

i actually made fun of it for a long time but eventually it grew on me and now i think it's pretty epic (still sounds like music from a Megaman stage though)

I think if you like DF, the songs by Blind Guardian you'd like would be the ultra fast ones, like "Ride into Obsession." Instead of Battlefield like someone else posted. Also the band called Ascension from the UK is very similar to Dragonforce, so you might like them too, but here's my unpopular opinion: I think Blind Guardian is the only consistently high quality Power Metal band in existence. Sure other Power Metal bands have good albums and songs, but pretty much every other Power Metal band to me has more bland songs than awesome songs, and Blind Guardian is the only one to really brake the Power Metal curse for me, having more great songs than not.

Also, Uaral is the best South American Metal band.

Gallowbraid is better than Agalloch.

Weezer

The band that broke my heart </3

I had high expectations from this band, they made such a nice impression on me with their debut album but they didn't follow through with their next album Pinkerton.

Which btw is not a bad album but it didn't have much commercial success, their following album was pretty decent but the one after that was total crap!

That Beverly hill song they made for me erased what little credibility they had left and today Weezer has become a band hardly anyone likes (but they started off great! what happened?)

It was a good album but it didn't have the same impact their first Cd had..

Imo they kinda peaked on their first Cd which is kinda sad cause it's all downhill from there.

Peaked commercially i mean, honestly they shoulda released a single and a video for across the sea imo that's the best song in the album.
