She also comes across shady which is why I don't fall for her her "girl next door" image.

She dates a lot of famous guys and then puts them on blast in her songs when they break up. I didn't like the way she threw John Mayor under the bus in her song John when they broke up.

The Kanye West incident really put her on the map. She has 0 talent.

The Kanye West incident put her on the map? He was interrupting her while she received an award for her work. She was already huge.
Shake It Off is unbelievably fun.

I am not saying she was not popular before that incident but it most certainly helped her career.

What Kanye did was disrespectful but just saying...

Doesn't she write her own songs?
Isn't that one of the things you never shut up about?

She writes her own songs but her songwriting is mediocre.

Just because she writes her songs doesn't mean she is a great songwriter or her music is good.

If you want to listen to her mediocre music go ahead but that is not going to stop me from calling her overrated.

I don't listen to it unless it's on the radio and in all honesty she is overrated. She is however, popular for a reason. It's clear why she gets the credit she does, why her fans are her fans. There's a lot worse out there.

This was the moment I turned against Taylor Swift.

Possibly my favourite Stones song. (I also love "She's a Rainbow" and "Satisfaction"). She butchered it, IMO.

Regardless whether teeny boppers are her primary audience or not, her albums sell over a million, she receives awards and accolades, she is often compared to legendary artists that came before her and her music is critically acclaim.

I don't think her talent (which I don't think she has any of) or her bland music reflects any of the above therefore in my opinion she is overrated.

At least with Britney Spears she had catchier songs and at least knew how to dance.

This chick here lol... Where is the talent? What is the appeal? I don't see it Lol
But no critics with any real respect care about what the majority of her fans think, and neither does the segment of society who decide that the Rolling Stones or Nirvana or Kanye West are creative geniuses, so they don't matter except for their own little teeny bopper world. And the only people who really care about those awards shows are people who are probably more concerned with celebrity worship in general than they are with music. If you want to call her overpopular, then you may have a point, but to be overrated I think people whose opinions are considered to matter, whether it be professional music critics or John Q. Public, have to actually rate you highly. And for the most part they don't.

The Notorious B.I.G. is no longer the biggest singer. Looks like Big Cynthia is bigger than Biggie Smalls.
