Blur`s Britishness is greatly exaggerated in their sound and overly in yer face, but I guess they could appeal to listeners not used to that accent. Damon Albarn`s vocal chords are probably better suited to selling fruit and vegetables on a London market stall than in the studio. When it comes to that very British singing style, Ray Davies and even Jimmy Pursey did it so much better, two obvious influences on Damon Albarn.

I agree that Blur did some terrible stuff mainly. I've always felt much of it sounds like it's just been thrown together from ideas from others. Maybe it's meant to be some post-modern knowing ironic music, but I don't really feel the music and it can feel second-hand and second-rate.

a good sick or a band sick? I like some of his stuff, He plays pawn shop type guitars. I think his vocal style is a mix of hip hop, blues etc, (he from Philly but his accent aint no Philly yo) he's from Society Hill and imo his accent has a New York hip hop influence, not a real Philly accent.

i don't think it's singing from the diaphragm. diaphragms are used only if you're an opera singer but for belting, you use your throat and chest voice. that's why we see them have those nerves on their necks when they do the high note, right?

i thought justin timberlake uses headtone. it sounds like one.
and talking about nasal sound, best example would be toni braxton.
