There are very few bands that can hold my full attention with something like 14-18 songs on an album that lasts well over an hour.

35 to 50 mins with 10 songs is just fine thank you.
Glad somebody else has said this! 9 to 11 songs on an album that lasted 30 to 40 mins was perfect, also albums pre-cd era told a story with the position of tracks on both the A-side and B-side, being crucial to the albums enjoyment. Unlike material from the CD era, which has albums lasting well over an hour, no A-side or B-side and tracks often chucked in any order and a whole load of boring extras chucked on the album for good measure as well.

This morning I`ve listened to H.P Lovecraft I at 32 mins and Black Sabbath 1 at 37 mins what bliss

Yes! The short album revolution that happened in the early 00s was such a relief after the bloated lengths of the 90s.

I must admit that when I realize something I've picked up is a double album, I am washed in despair that I've now committed to listening to the entire thing. I try to do it in two sittings, but it's much like ripping a bandaid off, best to do it all in one go.

...Still haven't heard 69 Love Songs.

I have a few small unpopular opinions to share:

> Shellac's At Action Park is too repetitive, and the songs can become really boring after a while. Also, it's not "King Crimson doing the Pixies" as someone said on RYM... that doesn't even make any sense.

> Red Krayola is an overall better band than The Velvet Underground... even though I listen to the latter more than the former. I just feel that they have contributed more to music with their vast and diverse discography. There is more to their musical output than just Parable of Arable Land you know...

Ugh, me neither, if I want to listen to the Magnetic Fields I just listen to the Distortion album. 69 Love Songs just seems like it's longer, pissier, and generally more weinery than Distortion so I've never bothered giving it a chance.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God

I grew tired of 69 love songs somewhere around the beginning of the second album. The first 23 were enjoyable enough (particularly "All My Little Words"), but the next 46 had my brain oozing out of my ears
