I'm not saying it is. There are plenty of other U2 songs I like, including the Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby in their entirety and one or two songs off of Zooropa.

Trip Through Your Wires
Exit
Mysterious Ways
One
Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car
Fly

^ = another bunch of great songs.

Just about all they've done these last 10-odd years has bored me stiff though.

Bulldog, have you ever heard the Unforgettable Fire? Eno's production dominates.

I can agree with this, definitely.

I've got it on CD somewhere, and I remember liking the title track a lot. Pride - there's another great little song. I should really listen to the album again pretty soon.

Forgot to mention, Angel Of Harlem is a fantastic song as well.

I've always been kind of meh towards Pride, but the rest of the album is killer. Much more atmospheric than that particular tune... and it's my belief that Bad is one of the absolute best songs ever.

I guess because Bono is Bono they get a lot of crap, but seriously they have made some great music.
Achtung Baby > Joshua Tree > War.

For me anyway. I can understand why people loath them though, gone on too long, a lot of their albums are a shower of ****. I think they're alright personally.

The way I see it, The Unforgettable Fire > Achtung Baby > The Joshua Tree > War.

I never said I hated his stuff. I don't, I actually quite like it, I just don't think it's anywhere near as good as what he did with The Smiths. And yes of course I've heard Vauxhall, it's a great album, but to me it still just doesn't compare to The Smiths, not the lyrics, vocals or anything else... And relax would you?

I always thought Achtung Baby had the most impressive guitar work Edge has managed to produce.

I've not heard October, but I'm a big fan of all of U2's other 1980's releases.
