Might as well move it to general music or alternative I guess.

k, if it his twenty five pages i'll start pushing the new admin to make one. Don't think he'll take any notice of me but i'll try <.<

PopIsDead 04-17-2007 04:36 PM

Alright, let's see how this goes then.

PhishFood 04-17-2007 04:43 PM

yeah and experimental music would be great you know, because We all love making it, could discuss all the crazy things we do,

PopIsDead 04-17-2007 04:46 PM

This is true. I like the whole third bridge guitar technique that's used in a lot of experimental music, especially no wave.

PopIsDead 04-17-2007 04:50 PM

Twenty-five pages is really quite massive...

PhishFood 04-17-2007 05:14 PM

yeah this is true, so w need conversation man. For everyone's intrest and my sort of bragging, my set up consists right now of a floor tom, high hat, over turned bucket, cheap keyboard, Drum machine/sampler (which i use as an amazing effects box lots of the time) and telecastor,

No Wave is awesome. I love Branca and James Chance, but DNA is my favorite. THey're just so noisy, they rule.

I like krautrock as well. Faust is amazing and my favorite krautrock band. Can and Amon Duul II are awesome as well, and Neu is also good. I'd love to find more of this music, but i really don't know where to find it :/

i might upload some albums for this thread, especially some of the No Wave stuff I've been accumulating over the last while. There's a lot of good "revivalists" out there as well, like Arab on Radar. If anyone is interested in uploads, then we should do that. It'd generate discussion as well :)

and on the subject of experimental music, has anyone heard Jandek?

Fifteen, <.< it has to be somewhat big for a whole forum.

PopIsDead 04-17-2007 05:30 PM

Hmm. I've never heard of Arab On Radar or Jandek. Do you think they're worth checking out?

Also, I'm not really sure how we'd go about doing uploads, but if it's at all possible, I'm definitely up for doing some uploads. If you know how I'd go about doing uploads, send me a message. I'm not educated in such an art just yet.
