Phish - Joy This is from their 2009 release, and is written about Trey's sister, Kristy Manning, who passed away earlier in the year. She did a lot of charity work and such through Phish and other outlets, actually leading Trey's The Seven Below Arts Endeavor and passed after a struggle with cancer. Makes the song that much more moving, in my opinion. Also, not too thinly veiled a hidden meaning, but: Queen - Death On Two Legs (dedicated to...... The song is actually written by Mercury and "dedicated to" their former manager, Norman Sheffield, who was screwing them over horribly. |

Opiates. I interpreted "hidden meaning" as something I didn't pick up on right away. Something I only got after listening to the song a dozen times or so.

I don't know about that, they could be preparing for a rousing game of tiddlywinks.
As for hidden meanings, wasn't there this big thing about a lyric in "Another one Bites The Dust" by Queen that sounded like "It's fun to smoke Marijuana" when played backwards?
