You're a total hypocrite. You pull bull**** like saying "Just because you find prog boring doesn't mean it's bad" but at the same time you don't even appreciate other's opinions, but instead seem to think that something in music can be factually of better quality than something else.

This is why I hate this top 50/100/whatever bull****, no matter what they're going to be based on opinion and other people's opinions will clash with that. It's not possible to have a good top 50 list.

EDIT: Boo boo, simply because of the way it sounds? It doesn't make you feel anything?

Pretty sad if that's true.

Was all the stuff at the top directed at me too? Because if so I don't know why.

What I meant by feeling is the idea of putting feeling into a song having any kind of effect on its quality. Not about weither or not certain songs bring out certain emotions in people.

We do it because people have a need to categorize things. And we enjoy it. I find most of the stuff Crowquill listens to boring, but I don't dismiss it as such. To boo boo it was directed at me.

not to point the finger at anyone, but honestly saying "lol no" to a different musical opinion is what sparked this, and that wasn't started by MHDTV.

But i totally agree with you about the rest. Music is too ****ing subjective to make a list, especially as one as small as the top 100 or 50. It would have to be far larger to be even semi-accurate

I think the only reason this thread has lasted as long as it has is because the original poster seems to go from it being a list of the most successful rock bands one minute to a list of his favourites the next.

I mean are Pearl Jam really the 5th best artist to come out of the U.S. ever?

true. But i think in order for it to work it has to be a group effort, not chosen solely by one person. I think thats why this fell apart, and why ethan polls work better
