They're two defining hip-hop albums and way more important than Illmatic.

I consider Astral Weeks to be more important.

*Not sure Woody Guthrie warrants the number 2 overall spot...but i defer to those who know the genre better.
I debated putting him at number 1, Woody Guthrie is undeniably the most important folk artist ever, and folk is also undeniably one of the most important genres ever.

Neil Young "After The Goldrush"
Otis Redding "Dock of the Bay"
Rage Against The Machine, self titled
Elton John "Yellow Brick Road"
The Band, self titled
Nirvana "Nevermind"
I'll leave the non-bolded ones up for debate than put them in appropriate slots if they make it.

The bolded ones i'll put in a to be added category, and i'll add it during my next revision I suppose, or just stick them in place whenever and not bother re-doing the whole thing.

To start the debate:

Nirvana im so-so about, I don't consider Nevermind to be anywhere near their best work even if its considered the 'most important'. I mean pretty much any Nirvana album could've came out at that point and featured Smells Like Teen Spirit and been just as successful.

In Utero is vastly superior. Especially if You Know You're Right is included with it.

@Crowquill
Wish You Were Here is considered Pink Floyd's other masterpiece.

BloodSugarSexMagik is a superior Musical album in my opinion. It is raw and pure. "Californication" has a more studio and produced sound. Both could be considered but if it's one or the other I like BSSM better.

OMGZ I kno, bssm is way betterz since it talks aboot drugz!!! Anyway, I think Californication has more mature lyrics, is more musically diverse, has better instrumentals, and has wayyy better vocals.

IMO

Nevermind > In Utero

And Smells Like Teen Spirit isn't even in my top 5 songs from that album. I like In Bloom, Come As You Are, Lithium, Drain You and Lounge Act more.

As for Pink Floyd, The Wall is probably their 3rd greatest album, after DSOTM and Piper. Though in terms of preference.

DSOTM > Wish You Were Here > Meddle > The Wall > Piper > Obscured By Clouds > Animals

But BSSM has better Bass playing.

Bass > Vocals.
